Former Secretary M Akmal Hossain died at BIRDEM hospital in the city today. He was 70. Akmal Hossain started his career as a member of the then Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP), said an official release. His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Baitul Muqarram National Mosque after johr prayers followed by a second one at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asar prayers. He will be buried at his family graveyard at Chhatak in Sunamganj. His qulkhwani will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asar paryers on August 8. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and Information Secretary Martuja Ahmed expressed deep shock at the death of Akmal Hossain. They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family.– BSS
