10 held with 155 sacks of stolen chemical

Police recovered 155 sacks of chemical, which were stolen on January 1 while being transported from the importer’s warehouse, from a godown in Bakolia of the port city on Sunday.
They also arrested 10 people over the recovery of the stolen chemical.
The arrestees were identified as Pankas Das, 51, Sajal Dev, 41, Md Salauddin, 22, Abdul Mannan, 35, Md Rashed, 36, Md Sentu Hawladar, 29, Md Abu Sufian alias Rubel, 26, Md Faruk, 35, and Alamgir alias Liton, 35.
Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) SM Mostain Hossain said the manager of M/S Goodluck Transport & Trading Agency filed a case with Patenga Model Police Station on Saturday after 155 sacks of chemical went missing from two covered vans while being sent to dealers from the warehouse of importer ‘Rafi Trade International’ on January 1.
Police arrested Salauddin and Abdul Mannan and they confessed to stealing the chemical, he said.
According to their information, police recovered 155 sacks of chemical from Janani Poultry Feed godown near Chaktai Fire Service Station and arrested others, Mostain said.
