DMP files 2,644 cases for traffic rule violation

Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Sunday filed 2,644 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized over Taka 27 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official release.
Of the total cases, 237 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 61 for using hydraulic horn, four for using hotter and beckon light and 14 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 803 cases against motorcycles and seized 64 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 24 vehicles and wrecked 452 others.
