Transport strike: Commuters’ sufferings mount in Chattogram

Two days long transport strike begins in the port city yesterday demanding amendment of 8 sections of Transport Act-18.
Following the sudden transport strike, the commuters suffer a lot as well as the admission test of the Chittagong University faces much inconveniences to reach university campus in time.
On first working day of the week, the employees of the different govt and non govt organisations could not reach to their destinations .
All types of public transports went off road , only 3 wheelers and rickshaws seen plying in the roads. An employee of International Islamic University told this correspondent in the mroning that he tried to his best efforts to reach Kumira campus but failed.
A Bank officer told the reporter that failing to avail any public transports, he hired a auto rickshaw but after passing few miles from Raozan, the picketers snatch away the transport key from the driver. Malik Sramik Oikya Parishad enforced two days long strike for fulfilment of 8 point demands and amendment of recently passed transport act by the cabinet.
