Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday submitted chargesheet against 18 persons including Rana Plaza owner Sohel Rana for building construction denying the fixed design code of building. Deputy Director General of the commission SM Mahidul Islam submitted the chargesheet appearing before the court. The chargesheeted are Rana Plaza owner Sohel Rana, Abdul Khalek (father of Rana), Morzina Begum (mother of Rana), Savar municipal mayor Refatullah, Mohammad Ali Khan, Professor ATM Masud Reza of the department of architecture of Khulna University, former chief executive officer of Savar municipality Uttam Kumar Roy, Executive Engineer Rafiqul Islam, Engineer Sajjad Hossain, former assistant Engineer Mahbubur Rahman, Rakibul Hasan Rasel, town planner Farzana Islam, licensed invigilator Md Abdul Mottalib, Md Abul Basar, Morzina Khan, Md Aminul Islam, Bazlus Samad and Md Anisur Rahman. Earlier on Tuesday, the ACC has approved chargesheet against 18 persons. On April 24, 2013, at least 1,135 died and more than 2,000 injured while the Rana Plaza was collapsed that was one of the worst factory disasters in the world.
