About 600 children participated in the art competition organised by UNFPA Bangladesh, to mark the World Population Day 2014. In observance of the World Population Day 2014, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Bangladesh arranged an awareness raising art
competition on July 9 at National Art Gallery Plaza
of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The competition focused on this year’s theme Investing in Young People. About 600 children
(6-19 years old) participated in four groups in the competition. Children unleashed their powerful
talent, painted on paper using their pencil, crayon, and paintbrush on adolescent and youth’s
challenges and opportunity.
Biren Sikder, State Minister of Ministry of Youth and Sports was present as the chief guest and Argentina Matavel Piccin, UNFPA Representative, Bangladesh chaired the programme.n
