Police Line emerge champions in School Cricket

Police Line High School of Bogra emerged champions in the national round Prime Bank School Cricket when they registered an emphatic six-wicket victory over Govt. Jubilee High School of Sunamganj in the final held on Sunday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Put to bat first by Police Line, Jubilee High School was dismissed at a paltry total of 90 in 32.4 overs with SI Tamim scoring 15 and Jewel Maumun making 13.
Raqibul Islam and Arafat Islam were the pick of Police Line bowlers as they captured three Jubilee’s wickets conceding 18 and 20 runs respectively.
Chasing a winning target of 91 runs set by Jubilee, Police Line hardly had to sweat as they easily reached home in 18 overs with six wickets in hand with skipper Rakibul Islam top scoring with an unbeaten 18 runs.
Besides, Redowan (13), Mahfuz (12) and Khaled Mahmud (12 n.o) were the other notable scorers for Police Line.
Police Line’s skipper Rakibul Islam was adjudged the player of the match for his all-round performance in the final while Rezaul Islam of Manikganj Model High School was named the best player as well as player of the tournament.
Besides, Morshed Alam of Sunshine Grammar School of Chittagong emerged as the highest wicket taker in the tournament taking 28 wickets.
Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Nazmunara Khanam, Bangladesh Cricket Board director Hanif Bhuiyan and Prime Bank Limited additional managing director Habibur Rahman distributed the prizes after the final.
