Int’l experts engage to create 500 world-class IT managers

International and local experts have been engaged to provide high-end management and IT training to 500 managers of country’s IT firms to boost the ICT sector.
Experts are from Victoria University of Australia, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University, said officials.
They said Professors Nalin Sarda, Vaibhabi Kulkarni, Debjit Roy, Arnab Laha, Neerav Nagar and Sobhesh Kumar Agarwalla have already provided training to 92 IT managers under an Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP) programme introduced at the IBA of Dhaka University.
Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division has been providing support to IBA to carry on ACMP programme with an aim to continue it for other sectors also, top BCC officials said and added training of another batch of 300 is going on.
“The first batch trainees who received practical knowledge on boosting their companies have expressed satisfaction over the teaching method applied by the professors of IIT Delhi and IIMA and IBA,” said Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb.
Deb said the ultimate target of the government is to involve experts of international and local institutes through the ACMP programme and give the programme an institutional shape so that the managers of other sectors like garments, leather and pharmaceuticals could enrich their capabilities to address evolving challenges.
“The LICT project appointed UK based Ernst and Young (EY) to conduct training hiring international experts to ensure quality training to the IT managers aimed at boosting the IT sector through enhancing their skills,” said LICT Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim.
