Science education needed for acquiring proper knowledge: IIUC VC

Vice Chancellor of International Islamic University Chittagong Prof AKM Golam Mohiuddin said , every student should be imbued towards science based education aimed at acquiring proper knowledge by the future generations.
He said Science Olympiad will play vital role in this field of science based education.
Prof. AKM Golam Mohiuddin disclosed it while addressing the inaugural session of the Divisional Science Olympiad-2018 as arranged under the auspices of Bangladesh Academy of Science at IIUC permanent campus auditorium in Kumira , Chittagong on Friday as Chief Guest.
Internationally reputed scientist and former Vice chancellor of IIUC Dr.AKM Azharul Islam and the member of the Board of Trustees & Chairman of Finance committee Prof.Ahsan Ulllah were present in it as special guest presided over by the Pro-VC Prof Dr Md.Delwar Hossain. Manager of the First Security Bank, Kumira Branch Md. Saifuddin addressed the opening session as honourable guest.
Associate Professor of CSE Department and member of Olmpiad Committee Prof Shamsul Alam delivered address of welcome in it.
The day-long colourful Oympiad programme launched through hoisting of National flag, flags of IIUC and Bangladesh Academy of Science at early morning .
The day-long programs include written examination, concluding session and prize distribution. 445 students from 56 schools, 26 colleges participated the Olympiad .
The chief guest in his deliverations said the education will come into fulfilled if the students are encouraged in morality building beside the science education nourishing . He said if the corruptions are resisted in society , the GDP will be enhanced .
He also mentioned that IIUC is one of the exclusive university where coordinated education are learned for building honest and devoted citizens .
The special guests also addressed the inaugural session emphasizing the science education and stressed the need for practicing science in the field of human welfare.
At the concluding hour of the Olympiad, chief guest and the special guests handed over awards and certificates among the winners .
