Three persons died at Mugda in the city due to excess alcohol drinking. Two died on the Wednesday night and one on Thursday morning.
The dead three were identified as Abdur Rahman (35), his friend Jamal Hossain (35) and Mir Sohel (20), brother-in-law of Abdur Rahman.
Abdur Rahman was a resident of Manda Kadam Ali Jhilpar area under Mugda thana where he rented a flat to live with his family. Sohel was employee of a Shop at Aziz Super market. Their dead bodies have been preserved for autopsy at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.
Abdur Razzaq, brother of Abdur Rahman, said that due to excessive drinking last night he became sick. He was taken to DMCH and by 1:45 am doctor declared him dead.
DMCH Police camp Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachu mian has confirmed the above incident and said Jamal Hossain died on Thursday morning by 10 am while he was under treatment.
Operating Officer (OC) of Mughda Police station said as Abdur Rahman’s wife was not at home yesterday night, he along with his brother-in-law and friend Jamal drank alcohol. For over drinking they became sick. Later, people nearby took them to the DMCH by 12 pm and there doctor declared them dead. At night Sohel was transferred to a hospital of Mughda and doctor declared him dead. Jamal died under treatment on Thursday morning.
