Customs officials recovered 40 gold bars weighing 4.46 kg from a flight of US Bangla Airlines at Shahjalal International Airport here on Monday.
Tipped off, a preventive team of Customs conducted a drive in a flight of US Bangla Airlines, which landed at the airport from Singapore around 7:55 am, said Saidul Islam, assistant commissioner of Customs.
The team recovered a black bag attached inside a seat in an abandoned condition. Later, the team recovered 40 gold bars worth Tk 2.32 crore from the bag.
