Wife of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police was found hanged at their residence in Niharika Residential Police Building in New Market area of Dhaka on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Taslima Akther, 35, wife of Amiruzzaman, ASI of Special Branch (City), hailed from Duarpar village of Magura sadar upazila.
On phone call from the ASI, Imran, the deceased’s brother, found Taslima hanging with ceiling fan at their room on level-8 in Niharika Residential Police Building, at around 08:00pm. She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) immediately where on-duty physicians pronounced her dead at around 10:00pm.
There was feud between the husband and wife, Imran said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bachchu Mia of DMCH police camp told Banglanews that the body was kept in the morgue for an autopsy.
