Akash of Armanitola Government High School emerged champion of the boys’ singles of the Walton Smart TV Dhaka Metropolis School Table Tennis Competition when he defeated Raihan of Ahmed Bawani Academy by 3-0 sets in the final at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Labiba of South Breeze School became champion of the girls’ singles when she beat Urmi of Prayash by 3-0 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day.
Armanitola Government High School clinched the title of the boys’ team event beating Saint Joseph’s High School by 3-1 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day.
Sunny Dale secured the title of the girls’ team event defeating Proyash by 3-0 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day.
After the final matches Minister for Communication Obaidul Quader distributed the prizes among the winners gas the chief guest while Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don and national colour former table tennis player Mosaddekul Haque Rochi were with him as special guests.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation Jobera Rahman Linu and the other officials of the federation were present at the time.
