91.34% pass SSC exams

Results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations have been published and 91.34 percent of students have passed the tests. As many as 142, 276 examinees have got GPA-5.Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina around 10am on Saturday. A total of 1,303,331 out of 1,432,727 appearing for the exams cleared the tests — 671, 961 or 91.84 percent are male students and 631,370 or 90.81 percent are females. Last year 89.03 percent of students passed SSC exams and 91,226 got GPA-5. Some 5092 institutions notched a total success rate with 100 percent students getting through. The education minister will provide details of the results at a news conference around I pm at the Secretariat. The exams were held between Feb 9 and Mar 22. The results were published in 60 days after the tests as declared earlier. Students will be able to get their results through SMS on mobile phones by typing SSC, space, the first three letters of their education board, space, and finally the roll numbers before sending it to 16222. Re-evaluation of papers If students want to have their papers re-evaluated, they can apply from May 18 to 24 through SMS from Teletalk mobile operator. They will have to type RSC, space, the first three letters of their education board, space, and roll numbers before sending it to 16222. The students will be charged Tk 125 for each subject and each paper. In a SMS reply, they will be given a PIN and informed about the charge for the re-evaluation.
