A case lodged with Fakirhat Model Police Station (PS) under Bagerhat on charges of raping a 9-year-old girl.
Even though 3 weeks have passed since the case was lodged, the accused has not been arrested yet. He has been absconding since the incident.
Citing the case, the police said that on October 30 at around 8 am, the child’s father left home for work in Kamta village of Naldha-Moubhog Union within the Upazila.
At around 10 am, the mother went to her father’s house for a visit. The child was alone at home at the time of the incident.
At around 11-30 am on that day, the child was playing with other children in the neighboring house.
While playing with the children, the accused asked the child to go home and she went home.
At that time, the accused went to the child’s house and asked her to come to the cowshed. But the child got scared and entered the house and closed the door.
Then the accused threatened her with a knife in his hand through the open window of the house. At one point, the child got scared and went with him to the cowshed.
Then, placing a towel on the floor of the cowshed, he forcibly took off the child’s pajamas.
Then he sexually assaulted her with his fingers. At that time, the child screamed in pain and a woman rushed to the spot and the lecherous man fled.
In this connection, the father of the child lodged a case with Fakirhat Police Station under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, accusing an old man named Md. Ramzan Morol (70) as his own plaintiff.
Case No. 7, date 11/11/2025. OC (Investigation) Md. Alamgir Hossain said, the accused has been absconding since the incident.
The operation to arrest him is ongoing. The case is currently under investigation.
