Nine BNP leaders have been expelled from the party for life for disobeying the party decision in the first phase of the upcoming upazila parishad elections in Sylhet division as candidates for the post of chairman, vice chairman and female vice chairman. They were expelled from the party in separate notices signed and sent by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday.
The expelled are- Gauch Khan, former convener of Biswanath Upazila BNP, Deputy Organizing Secretary of United Kingdom BNP and Sylhet Biswanath Upazila BNP Sebul Miah, Sunsamganj District Women’s Board Vice President and Dirai Upazila BNP Women’s Affairs Secretary Phir Chowdhury, Moulvibazar Baralekha Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary and Moulvibazar Mahila Dal General Secretary Rahela Begum Hasna, Sunamganj Dirai Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Golap Miah, Sunamganj Shalla Upazila BNP President Ganendra Chandra Das, Sylhet Biswanath Upazila BNP Women Affairs Secretary Swapna Begum Hena, Biswanath Khajanchi Union BNP Organizing Secretary Abdur Rob Sarkar, Biswanath Upazila BNP Kaushar Khan, joint secretary of Svechasevak Dal.
Sylhet district BNP president Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
