The court has sent 9 people, including Upazila BNP President Abdur Rashid, to jail in a case of attack on army members in Haripur of Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet on Sunday (June 29) morning.
the accused appeared before the Sylhet District and Sessions Judge Court and applied for bail. However, after the hearing, Judge Sheikh Ashfaqur Rahman rejected their bail and ordered them to be sent to jail.
The accused’s lawyer Nizam Uddin said that the accused had earlier taken bail from the interim government from the High Court. As the period of that bail expired, they appeared in court on Sunday. The court rejected their bail and sent them to jail.
Incidentally, on March 27, around 12 midnight, an army patrol team seized a stolen Indian buffalo in the Haripur Bazar area of ​​Jaintapur upazila. On the way to bring these stolen goods to the camp, a group of people threw bricks at the army personnel. Several army personnel were injured. The vehicle carrying them was vandalized.
The next day, a case was filed at Jaintapur Model Police Station, naming 70 people and accusing 150 others of unknown names.
