8 arrestees on 10-day remand

10-day remand application has been made for 8 people arrested in the case filed in connection with the clash between Chattagram University (CU) students and the villagers. Remand application was heard in the court of Chattagram Judicial Magistrate NazmunNahar on Sunday.

At that time, the 8 arrested persons were produced in the court from the jail. The 8 accused are – Imran Hossain Emran, Md. Hasan, Md. Russell Prakash (Kala Russell), Md. Alamgir, Nazrul Islam, Md. Zahed, Md. Arman and Didarul Alam.

They are residents of different villages of Fatehpur Union in Hathazari. They were arrested in a drive conducted in different places in Hathazari on the night of September 2.

Advocate Fazle Hossain Rabbi, the lawyer for the accused, said that a 10-day remand application was filed for 8 people arrested and in jail in a case filed in connection with the clash between CU students and villagers.

The 8 accused were produced in court as the hearing was scheduled for Sunday. The investigation officer of the case could not appear as Section 144 was imposed in the area at Hathazari Police Station. The court fixed September 9 as the hearing date.
