Around 76.25 per cent of the Port City’s drainage project has been completed. Among them, the work of bridge, culvert and road side drain and new drain has been
completed 100 per cent.
The implementing agency believes that this will relieve most of the city dwellers from water-logging in the monsoon season this year. The director of the project, Lt Col Md Shah Ali said this in an event held at the office of the project implementing organisation 34 Construction Brigade on Tuesday. It was informed on behalf of the organisation implementing the programme that the work of bridge, culvert and road side drains is 100 per cent completed, but the work of installing the regulator at the mouth of the canal is 98 per cent completed. Besides, 67.05 per cent of retaining wall work, 30.95 per cent of silt trap construction.
