A CNG-powered auto-rickshaw and a rickshaw were crushed by the engine while shunting the train at the junction station keeping the city’s most important and busiest Ishwardi rail gate open.
Seven people including driver and passenger were injured in this incident. The incident happened on Tuesday (January 21) around 8 pm at the busiest railway gate of Ishwardi town. The injured were taken to Ishwardi hospital for treatment.
Arif Hossain, the witness of the incident said, I was sitting in a shop next to the railway gate. The gateman did not close the gate even after the engine of the train approached the rail gate while the shunting train was moving the carriage. A power trolley passes dangerously in front of the engine.
Then a CNG-powered autorickshaw and a rickshaw got crushed by the engine while crossing the rail gate. Seven people including CNG driver, passenger and rickshaw puller were injured.
