7-day Puja break for schools, 10 days for colleges

For this year’s Durga Puja, schools and educational institutions in Bangladesh will observe extended holidays, with government primary schools set for a seven-day closure, secondary eight days, and colleges for 10 days.

Madrasa students will get two days off.
The holiday for primary schools will start from Sept 28, with a break until Oct 6, excluding the weekly holidays. Classes will resume on Oct 7, reports bdnews24.com.

Secondary schools, both government and private, will also begin their holidays on Sept 28, remaining closed until Oct 7, with classes restarting on Oct 8.

Colleges will follow a similar schedule, with holidays starting on Sept 28 and lasting until Oct 9, excluding weekly holidays. Classes will recommence on Oct 12, as Oct 10 and Oct 11 are Fridays and Saturdays.

Madrasa students at all levels, including Ebtedayee, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil, will have two days off, from Oct 1 to Oct 2. Classes will resume on Oct 5, as Oct 3 and Oct 4 fall on the weekend.
Technical schools under the Technical Education Board will have five days off from Oct 1 to Oct 7, excluding the weekly holidays, with classes starting on Oct 8.
Vocational colleges, including those offering HSC, BM, and Polytechnic diploma courses, will be closed from Oct 1 to Oct 6, with students having a four-day break on Oct 1, Oct 2, Oct 4, and Oct 6.
This year, Durga Puja will begin with the main rituals on Sept 28, with idol immersion on Oct 2 marking the end of the festival.
The government will declare Oct 1 and Oct 2 as public holidays for the festival, with optional holidays on Sept 29 and Sept 30 for the seventh and eighth days.
A total of 33,576 puja pandals will be set up across Bangladesh, including 255 in Dhaka city.
