At least six people, including four in Cumilla and two in Rajbari, were killed and several others injured in two separate road crashes on Tuesday.
In Cumilla, at least four people were killed and three others injured when a truck overturned early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 23, of Satkhira sadar upazila, Monir Hossain, 28, of Bhola’s Monpura and Habibur Rahman, 32 and Akter Hossain, 35.
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in front of RNR pump at Belasor area in Chandina upazila.
Monjurul Alam Munna, Officer-in-charge of Eliotganj Highway Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound truck carrying fish from Noakhali overturned after hitting another truck. At that time, four people died on the spot and three others were injured.
On information, the members of Chandina Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and rushed the injured people to Upazila Health Complex. Later, the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Meanwhile, two teenagers were killed in a motorcycle accident in Rajbari.
The accident took place near Shantinagar Bridge in Alipur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Rajan Sheikh (16) son of Lal Mia Sheikh and Sohag Pramanik (16) son of Rob Pramanik of Sadar upazila.
According to sources, the motorcycle lost control and collided with the electricity pole on the side of the road. Two were seriously injured and died on the spot.
