Six meritorious students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) were awarded Dean’s Award on Tuesday.
At the ‘Internship Feedback Program and Dean’s Award-2025’ ceremony organized at CVASU Auditorium on Tuesday.
These six students who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the combined results of Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Food Science and Technology degree for the years 2022 and 2023 were awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award.
The Dean’s Award recipients are: Arpita Roy Trisha (1st place), K. M. Aminul Ehsan (2nd place) and Minhaj Uddin (3rd place) of the 10th batch (2018-2019 session) and Zerin Devi Nath (1st place), Afia Ibnat Saiba (2nd place) and Mosammat Tajmim Zakia Mim (3rd place) of the 11th batch (2019-2020 session). The 11th batch (2019-2020 session) students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology completed six-month internships at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and various government and private institutions, hospitals and food industries in the country. The Faculty of Food Science and Technology organized the event on this occasion.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman. The special guests present were the University Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Kamal, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Professor Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Al Nahid, Director (External Activities) Professor Dr. A. K. M. Saifuddin, Director (Rural Education and Social Development) of Bangladesh Rural Development Academy Dr. Sheikh Masudur Rahman and Director (Additional Responsibilities) of BCSIR Laboratory, Chattogram Dr. Barun Kanti Saha. The welcome address was delivered by Professor Dr. Shirin Akhter, Department of Food Processing and Engineering, CVASU.At the beginning, the 11th batch students of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Nausheen Nawal Wishi, Maryam Jamila Marzia and Umme Habiba, gave a presentation on the internship program. Certificates were given to representatives of various institutions providing internship placements at the event.
Finally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between SIVASU and Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) for mutual cooperation in research, training and internship activities.
CVASU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman and BARD Director General Saif Uddin Ahmed signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
