6 armed dacoits arrested

Police rounded up six armed dacoits from Jurargonj area under Mirsarai upazila of the district on Monday morning.
Police also recovered a number of locally made arms including Light Gun (LG), single barrel gun, daggers, sharp knives and looted money from their possession. Four of the arrestees were identified as Taiub Nabi, 29, Kamal Hossain, 27, Mohammad Selim, 34, Aminur Rahman, 28, while the names of the others could not be known immediately.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said acting on secret information, police conducted raids in the area and managed to apprehend these dacoits.
They were wanted in several robbery cases with Jurargonj Thana of the district and Companygonj Thana of Noakhali, Naimul added.
