55,000 bags of Ringer’s Lactate Saline stocked

Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen on Tuesday said the work of creating a shared health record for the purpose of creating a health profile to provide a unique health ID to every citizen is underway.

“The work of providing Unique Health ID has started in certain hospitals on an experimental basis. The project will be expanded soon based on the results of the pilot program. Some 14,03,889 IDs have been issued so far under the pilot Unique Health ID program,” he said, reports UNB.

The health minister said these while responding to a tabled question of government party MP elected from Gaibandha Mahmud Hasan Ripon.

He said that automation has been introduced in 67 hospitals under the HIS and e-Health operation plan of the MIS branch of the Department of Health. DPP has been formulated to introduce automation in all hospitals.
In response to the question of ruling party MP elected from Chattogram M Abdul Latif, the health minister said that dengue reporting has been created on the online platform by the MIS branch of the health department.
“Through which the test results of dengue patients tested in the lab will be available immediately. This will prevent multiple reports of the same patient.”

He said that ‘Dengue Focal Person’ has been appointed in all Government Medical College Hospitals and District Headquarters Hospitals of the country, through whom stock and demand of dengue test kits, IV fluid (saline) and other logistics are being collected regularly for the treatment of dengue patients across the country. To ensure the treatment of dengue patients, some 2,15,752 liters of IV fluid (saline), 8,87,569 saline sets, 26,135 mosquito nets and 1,01,159 dengue test kits were kept in 54 hospitals of different districts of the country.

Besides, he said that Dengue Test Kit (NS-1) of 8,51,514, Combo IgG & IgM Test kit – 1600 and Dengue RNA Diagnostic Kit 1100 provided by the Government of People’s Republic of China were stored in CMSD.
Besides, some 55,000 bags of Ringer’s Lactate Saline were stocked at CMSD with the help of WHO. Another 20 thousand bags of 500 ml. Normal saline is available. which is stored in CMSD.
The minister said that some 2 lakh kits are stocked for dengue testing. Out of which 1,11,000 kits have been supplied to 64 districts. The remaining 88 thousand kits are in stock.
In response to Women Reserved seat MP Farida Yasmin, the health minister said that there are 6,557 seats in 72 private medical colleges of the country.
In response to the question of independent MP elected from Barishal Pankaj Nath, the health minister said that there are 37 government medical centers in the country.
In response to the government party MP elected from Dhaka AFM Bahauddin Nasim, the health minister said that for the development of Bangladesh’s health sector – World Health Organization; UNICEF; UNHCR; Global Fund; Vital Strategies; Save the Children; NFH; Several foreign organisations including JICA are working.
In addition to providing financial support by these organizations for the development of the health sector in Bangladesh, support is being provided in the adoption and implementation of various programs.
Responding to a question from independent MP elected from Netrokona Iftekhar Uddin Talukder Pintu, the health minister said that the government always encourages foreign investment in the health sector. Initiatives will be taken to take various steps through Chinese investment to improve the service quality of hospitals in the country, he added.
