NN Online:
A total of 5,206 candidates have cleared the multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam under the special 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), which is aimed at recruiting doctors.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the results on Sunday night. Among the successful candidates, 4,695 qualified for the position of assistant surgeon and 511 for assistant dental surgeon. They are now eligible to appear for the 100-mark viva voce.

The PSC noted that 3,000 candidates will ultimately be selected to join government service — 2,700 as assistant surgeons and 300 as assistant dental surgeons — following the viva round.

The 200-mark MCQ test was held last Friday with participation from 41,025 candidates, meaning around 14 aspirants competed for each post.

The results were initially scheduled for release on Monday (July 21) as per the commission’s roadmap. However, the PSC published them a day earlier.

Full results and additional details are available on the PSC’s official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd.

The special 48th BCS circular was issued on May 29 to facilitate fast-track recruitment of doctors into public service.
