51 sacks of VGD rice were stolen from the godown of Raona Union Parishad No. 6 in Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh by breaking the lock. Each sack contained 30 kg of rice. Sometime on Sunday night, unknown miscreants took 51 sacks of rice from the 162 sacks of VGD rice. It is learned that these sacks were kept in the godown for distribution against the 162 VGD cards of the union.
Raona Union Parishad Administrator-in-Charge and Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mofakhkharul Islam and Union Parishad Administrative Officer Md. Bazlul Haque confirmed this information. A GD was filed with Gafargaon Police Station on Monday afternoon in this incident.
Police visited the scene after receiving the information.
