5 women killed in road crash

The burial of 5 womens killed in a road accident in Chakaria in Cox’s Bazar has been completed in Chouddagram, Cumilla. They were buried in the family graveyard after two separate funerals in Chouddagram on Thursday.

Thousands of people attended the funeral. In the morning, the funeral prayers of three people were held at the Chandishkara Central Eidgah ground of Chouddagram Municipality and two at the Falgunkara Government model Primary School ground.

The deceased are Farjana Majumder Liza (28), wife of Uday Patwoary, a resident of Chandishkara village, mother Rumi Begum (65), sister Sadia Haque Patwoary (24),Mother-in-law Rizwana Majumder Shilpi (55) and sister-in-law Farhana Majumder Tiza (25).

Meanwhile, the entire village of Chandishkara and Falgunkara was stunned by the news of the death of 5 womens after the accident.Earlier, on the night of November 4, Uday Patwoary and his wife left their home in Uttara, Dhaka, for Cox’s Bazar in a rented microbus.

His wife is Farjana Majumder Liza, son Samad Patwoary, sister-in-law Farhana Majumder Tiza, and brother-in-law Shahed Majumder Lishan.

At around 2:30 am, mother Rumi Begum, sister Sadia Haque Patwoary and mother-in-law Rizwana Majumdar picked up the artist from Chouddagram.

On Wednesday morning, around 9 am, on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway,When the microbus reached Dhala area of Phansiakhali in Chakaria, it collided with a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction at a reckless speed.

Five people died on the spot. Uday Patwoary, his son and brother-in-law were seriously injured.

Upon receiving the information, police and army members rescued them and took them to a local hospital. Among the injured, Shahed Majumdar Lishan’s condition is still not out of danger.
