Five persons have been sent to jail in two separate cases filed over vandalizing and torching two vehicles of the army and the police in Kochukhet area of the capital on October 31.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order on Sunday after police produced the five before the court and pleaded to keep them behind the bars till the end of the investigation.
The five accused people are identified as Alamgir, Reshma Khatun, Mahfuz Miah, Aminul Islam and Qazi Russel.
Earlier on November 2, Bangladesh Army detained them from Bhashantek and Kafrul areas of Dhaka.
Of them, Mahfuz and Aminul were shown arrested in the case lodged with the Kafrul Police Station while Alamgir, Reshma and Russel were arrested in a case filed with the Bhashantek Police Station.
With them, so far, eight persons have been detained by the army in connection with the October 31 violence.
