Five people, including four children and a teenager, were admitted to the One-Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in three hours after claiming to have been raped.
They were admitted to the hospital between 10 am and 1 pm on Thursday. Out of the five, two children and a teenager were brought from different areas of Mugda Police Station in the capital.
Mugda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Al-Amin brought the two children to the OCC from the area in the morning.
SI Al-Amin told that a complaint was made to the police station that a 12-year-old child was raped after Iftar on March 19. Based on the complaint, a neighbor named Jabbar (40) was arrested. The child was admitted to the OCC for a physical examination.
Again another complaint was made to the police station stating that a child was raped on March 18 in the same area. A neighbor named Pintu Chandra Das was arrested in this incident. The victim child was admitted to the OCC for a physical examination.
Meanwhile, SI Tahidul Islam from Mugda police station area brought a 15-year-old girl to the OCC on Thursday.
SI told the media that the police station received a complaint that the girl was raped by a young man named Siam (18), who was previously known to him, on March 18. He has been arrested in the meantime. The girl has been admitted to the OCC for a physical examination.
Besides, a 15-year-old girl from Khilgaon police station area was admitted to the OCC. SI Ilias Mahmud of Khilgaon police station said that the girl was raped by a young man named Alif Siam (20) on February 23, promising marriage.
A case was filed with the police station last Wednesday based on the complaint of the girl’s family. That is why the girl was brought to the OCC on Thursday for a physical examination.
In addition, a 22-year-old woman from Hatirjheel Police Station area was admitted to the OCC, stating that she was a victim of rape. However, details about this incident are not known.
