5 Pran officials jailed in Pabna

A large amount of adulterated milk has been seized in Chatmohar, Pabna. Three Pran Hub officials responsible for milk collection, storage and supply were given 6 months in prison. At the same time, 6 people, including a woman, were arrested and handed over to the police station on charges of being involved in making adulterated milk.
On Monday (July 21) from morning to noon, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Musa Naser Chowdhury, with the help of the NSI Pabna team, conducted a drive at Langalmora village of Chaikola Union of the upazila and at Chaikola Chaura. A 17-member team led by NSI Pabna Assistant Director ABM Lutful Kabir, Pabna Additional Food Safety Inspector Md. Mofazzal Hossain, Upazila Food Safety Inspector Md. Aslam Hossain and Thana police were present at the time. With the help of NSI, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Musa Naser Chowdhury conducted a raid on the houses of adulterated milk manufacturers in Langalmora village of Chaikola union of the upazila in the morning. While some people escaped, 6 people including a woman were arrested. Milk, oil and various types of chemicals were seized. The arrested are Saidul Islam (45), son of Shahadat Hossain of Langalmora village, Khalilur Rahman (65), son of Sekender Ali, Liton Hossain (19), son of Saidul Islam, Nizam Uddin (50), son of Hazrat Ali, Rubel Hossain (20), son of Khabir Uddin and Majeda Khatun (35), wife of Rifaz Ali. Among them, Khalilur Rahman’s son Rubel Hossain was involved in making adulterated milk, so Khalilur Rahman was released on the condition that he surrender within a week. Rubel’s elder brother Adv. Ershad Ali took over his responsibility. Regular cases were registered against the others and sent to jail through the court. Then in the afternoon, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Musa Naser Chowdhury, Safe Food Inspector and NSI team conducted a raid on Pran’s chilling center (hub center) in Chaikola Chowrasta.
