Like every year, the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will host five Eid congregations in phases. According to an announcement from the Islamic Foundation on Sunday (March 30), the prayers will take place on Monday (March 31) from 7:00 AM to 10:45 AM, with four congregations scheduled an hour apart, followed by a final one at 10:45 AM.
The first Eid congregation will be held at 7:00 AM, led by the mosque’s Pesh Imam, Hafiz Mufti Maulana Muhibbullahil Baqi. The Muqabbir (prayer announcer) will be Hafiz Ataur Rahman, a retired muezzin of the mosque.
The second congregation will be led by Hafiz Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman, the senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram, with Nasirullah, the mosque’s chief caretaker, serving as the Muqabbir.
At the third congregation, Dr. Maulana Mufti Waliur Rahman Khan, a Hadith scholar from the Islamic Foundation, will lead the prayers, while Abdul Hadi, a caretaker of the national mosque, will serve as the Muqabbir.
For the fourth congregation, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, editor of the Translation and Compilation Department at the Islamic Foundation, will be the Imam, with Md. Alauddin, a caretaker of the mosque, acting as the Muqabbir.
The final congregation at 10:45 AM will be led by Mufti Md. Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation, with Ruhul Amin, a caretaker of the national mosque, serving as the Muqabbir.
In case any of the designated Imams are unable to attend, Maulana Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation, will serve as the alternative Imam.
Thousands of worshippers are expected to participate in these Eid congregations, which will be held under tight security arrangements.
