At least five business houses in Kishoreganj have been fined a total of Tk 5 lakh in a special operation by Pure Food Court also Summary trail under the Safe Food Act for allegedly producing adulterated, unregistered and unhygienic food.
The day-long drive was conducted on Saturday by Senior Judicial Magistrate (1st Class Magistrate) Md. Ariful Islam of Pure Food Court in Kishoreganj district.
During the operation, District Sanitary Inspector (DSI) Shankar Chandra Pal, and Police, RAB and Ansar Battalion members.
In a raid in Sadia Food Products was fined Tk 1 lakh, Mahi Food Products fined Tk 1 lakh, Sumon Bakery in Katiadi town fined Tk 1 lakh, Md. Liton Miah In Bhairab port town fined Tk 1 lakh and Al Azizia Hotel and Restaurant in Bhairab port town was fined Tk 1 lakh for storing raw and cooked food together in the fridge and violating various sections of the Safe Food Act, and all the food was destroyed in public.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Pure Food Court, Kishoreganj said that this campaign against adulterated and unsafe food will continue to protect people’s health.
