A colorful procession and road meeting of the past was held jointly organized by Ishwardi Upazila and Municipal BNP on the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP yesterday. The procession was taken out from the Nazim Uddin High School ground in the city under the leadership of Zakaria Pintu, former joint secretary of Pabna District BNP and former general secretary of Ishwardi Municipal BNP. The procession circled the main roads of the city and met at a road meeting at the central bus terminal.
Speaking as the chief guest at the roadshow, Zakaria Pintu wished BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia a speedy recovery and the country’s happiness, peace and prosperity, saying that on this day in 1978, martyred President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP.
BNP, which moved forward with a 19-point program, won the parliamentary elections the following year.
He also said that Bangladesh will rise again under the leadership of Tarique Zia in the coming days. BNP has already gained the trust of the people of this country under the leadership of Tarique Zia; the people want to see BNP in power in the next elections. Therefore, we will not allow any more conspiracies on the soil of Bangladesh.
SM Fazlur Rahman, former joint secretary of the municipal BNP and general secretary of the Ishwardi Press Club, presided over the road meeting.
