The 45th founding anniversary of The New Nation, the country’s oldest English daily, was celebrated on Thursday.
On the occasion, distinguished guests from different quarters participated in the programme held at the daily’s office at the Ittefaq Bhaban in the capital.
Md. Mokarram Hossain, the Editor of the daily presided over the function while its Chairperson Saju Hosein was the Chief Guest.
Meanwhile, Mr. Arshad Hosein Director of The New Nation, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) General Secretary Md. Khurhid Alam, Weekly Robbar’s former Editor Syed Tosharaf Ali, Jatiyo Gonotantrik Party (Jagpa) Senior Vice-Chairman Md. Asaduzzaman, Bangladesh Labor Party’s spokesperson Shariful Islam, among others, greeted the daily’s publisher, editor and journalists with flowers on the occasion. Later, the Chairperson cut the cake in celebration of the founding anniversary with the guests.
