UNB, Benapole :
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 40 people, including women and children, while they were going to India illegally through Putkhali border here on Saturday morning.
Acting on secret information, a patrol team of BGB launched a drive in the Balur Math area in the morning and arrested them, said commander Shafiuddin of Benapole BGB Battalion-23 camp. The arrestees include 26 men, 11 women and three children and all of them hail from different upazilas of Faridpur, Narail and Barisal districts.
They were going to India in search of jobs.
Later, BGB troops handed over them to Benapole port police. A case was filed.
