40-day holiday in edn instts begins
Staff Reporter:
All government and private educational institutions across all levels are going on an extended holiday.
With breaks for the holy month of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and several other holidays combined, institutions will remain closed for at least 40 consecutive days.
The holiday begins from Sunday and educational institutions are scheduled to reopen on April 8.
An analysis of the academic calendar shows that holidays for the holy month of Ramadan, Doljatra, Independence Day, Jumatul Wida, Shab-e-Qadr, and Eid-ul-Fitr started on Sunday and will continue until April 8.
Additionally, the SSC and equivalent examinations are set to begin on April 10.
Institutions serving as exam centres will have an even longer closure.
Notices announcing the holiday have already been posted in various educational institutions across the capital.
Heads of institutions have said that this year’s holiday has been extended due to the overlap of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and the SSC examination break.
However, the directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has instructed institutions to conduct classes in between exam schedules whenever possible.
