At least four members of a family were found dead at their residence in Bhairab port town of Kishoreganj on Tuesday.
The police recovered the bodies of a couple and their two children, from a house at Rani Bazar area in Bhairab port town on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased include husband Johnny Biswas (32), his wife Nipa Rani Biswas (26), son Dhruv Biswas (7) and daughter Katha Biswas (5).
Their village home is in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi.
Johnny worked as a workshop in worker Bhairb town. They lived in a rented house in Rani Bazar to Bhairabpur.
Locals and police saids, the family had been living in this area. The police went to the spot after receiving information from the locals.
Police Super (SP) of Kishoreganj, Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury, Additional SP(Crime & Ops)Md. Al-Amin Hossein visited the spot.
Additional SP (Crime& Ops)Md. Al-Amin Hossein told the New Nation that, the man’s body was hanging. The woman’s throat was cut and the two children are believed to have been strangled.
Initially, the police could not tell the cause of death. However, the police are investigating whether it is a suicide or some other incident, Additional SP added.
Officer- in Charge (OC) in Bhairab model police station, Md.Shaheen said, the bodies were sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH), Kishoreganj morgue for autopsy . Before this, the members of Crimesin observed the body, police said it.
