UNB, Bogra :
At least four people, including three women, were killed and nine others inured in separate road accidents in Shibganj and Dhunat upazilas on Friday.
The three women were killed and eight people injured as a bus hit a human hauler (Bhotbhoti) carrying them at Pakurtala in Shibganj upazila in the afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
Witnesses said the Rangpur-bound bus from Rajshahi crashed into the human hauler at a crossing on the Bogra-Rangpur highway at about 5pm, leaving the three women dead on the spot and eight people injured. The injured were rushed to hospital.
In separate accident, a motorcyclist was killed and his co-rider injured as a truck hit their bike in East Bharanshahi area of Dhunat upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Roni Karmakar, 24, son of Mahadev Karmakar of Magra village in Kalihati upazila of Tangail district.
Witnesses said the Dhunat-bound truck of ‘Taseen Enterprise’ from Sonamukhi hit the motorcycle in the area around 3pm, leaving the two riders injured.
Roni died on the way to Bogra hospital.
