Four idols were vandalized by unidentified miscreants early Sunday at Kapalipara area of Khanjapur union under Gournadi upazila of Barishal district. The police from local station visited the spot on Sunday afternoon.
Gautam Dutta, the president of the temple committee, said that on early Sunday, unknown miscreants breaking the windows of the locked temple entered and vandalized the idols of Kali Devi, Sitla Devi, Ramprasad and Sarada Devi.
On Sunday morning, the worshipers reported the matter to him after seeing the broken windows of the temple. Later he found the idols inside the temple in a vandalized condition, Goutam Dutta added.
Gourandi Police Station Second Officer SI Shahidul Islam said after informed about the incident police visited the site started investigation. Besides, efforts are being made to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
