A team of Serious Crimes Investigation of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained four members of a fraud gang with huge number of fake police clearance certificates from different parts of the capital on Saturday night.
The arrested men are: Moslem Mia, Shah Alam Kabir, Ashikur Rahman,
and Abdur Rahim. They also seized at least 1,612 police clearance certificates, 69 fake seals of different ministries, departments and organizations, 617 fake seals of Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Officers-in-Charge (OCs), three ambush seals of notary public, three punch machines, two computers and a printers, said Md Abdul Baten, Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch of DMP.
They admitted at custody that they took money from people by showing fake police clearances and other documents, the detective official said.
They made the fake documents as per the demand of various needy men, organizations and travel agencies, he said.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection , he added.
