4 die of dengue in 24 hours

Four more people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours ending on Saturday morning. During the same period, 247 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, among the dengue patients admitted to hospitals during the period, 56 are from Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 57 from Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 31 from Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 32 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 68 from Dhaka South City Corporation, and three from Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation).

Meanwhile, 226 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. This year so far, 26,781 dengue patients have been released from hospitals.

Until now this year, a total of 28,202 people have been infected with dengue. Of them, 59.2 percent are male and 40.8 percent female.

All four people who died in the past 24 hours were residents of Dhaka South City Corporation. This year, dengue has so far claimed 114 lives.

In 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue in Bangladesh, and 575 died from the disease.
