The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Chattagram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, said that youth are the future builders of sustainable Bangladesh.

He made these remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day international conference titled “3rd International Conference on Green Architecture (ICGA 2025)” organized jointly by the Green Architecture Cell of the Department of Architecture, CUET at the Central Auditorium on Thursday.
The special guests were Mr. Md. Khalequzzaman Chowdhury, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Professor Dr. S. M. Nazmul Imam, Head of the Department of Architecture, BUET, Conference President and Professor of the Department of Architecture, BUET, Dr. Ashikur Rahman Joarder, and Professor of the Department of Architecture, BUET, Dr. Zebun Nasrin Ahmed.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Masa Noguchi and Urbana Bangladesh Principal Architect Mr. R. Kashef Mahbub Chowdhury.
The closing speech was delivered by the Conference Secretary and Head of the Department of Architecture, CUET, and Professor Dr. Sajal Chowdhury.
The program was moderated by 20th batch students of the Department of Architecture, CUET, Dr. Marma Opi and Nahrin Ahmed Nakshatra.
It is to be noted that leading academicians, scholars and researchers from various countries including Australia, USA, UK, Canada, and Netherlands participated in the conference of the Department of Architecture.
Two keynote speakers were present. A total of 16 technical sessions will be held in the conference.
In addition, there will be a poster exhibition, a joint international PhD research seminar and 5 parallel workshops on environmental architecture. 6 PhD research from different countries will be presented.
A total of 150 papers were submitted to the conference, out of which more than 80 papers will be presented in 16 sessions over 2 days and more than 40 posters will be presented.
A two-day architectural project exhibition will be organized in the Department of Architecture on the occasion of the conference.
