Army have arrested at least 39 teenagers along with 46 Yaba tablets, 19 used empty foreign liquor bottles, in a raid by the joint forces in Kishoreganj’s Itna haor on Friday afternoon.
joint forces conducted a raid at the Barshikura Bridge in Raytuti Union of Itna upazila and arrested them.
According to police, a group of teenagers were dancing and playing loud music in the river in the name of a boat trip in Badla Union of Itna haor upazila. After intelligence agencies confirmed that they had found a large quantity of drugs, a team of the 27th Riverine Engineer Battalion of the Itna Army Camp and the Itna Police Station conducted the operation.
Sub Inspector (SI) of Itna Police Station confirmed the matter, and said that, 39 teenagers held with drugs in the joint force operation and brought to the police station. Since all of them are under the age of 18, they will be released on bail to their families.
The remaining two people who were found with Yaba, shown for arrest in this connection.
