32 killed in Sylhet road accidents

32 people were killed and 144 injured in 32 road accidents in Sylhet division in February.
The Safe Roads (NISCHA) Sylhet Divisional Committee released this report on Tuesday (March 4).
The published report mentioned that 32 people were killed and 144 injured in 32 road accidents in Sylhet division in February. Among the dead, 11 were motorcyclists and riders.
The highest number of road accidents occurred in Sylhet district and the least occurred in Moulvibazar district. In February, 17 people were killed and 27 were injured in 14 road accidents in Sylhet district. In Sunamganj district, 8 people were killed and 33 were injured in 8 road accidents. In Moulvibazar district, 1 person was killed and 3 were injured in 1 road accident and in Habiganj district, 6 people were killed and 81 were injured in 8 road accidents.
Nischa Central Committee Co-Organizing Secretary, Sylhet Divisional Committee Member Secretary and Sylhet District Convener Zahirul Islam Mishu said in a statement that the Nischa Divisional Committee has prepared this report based on information from five local dailies, online newspapers.
two national dailies, presumed unreported or unpublished incidents and information from the branch organizations of Nischa Sylhet.
The report also mentioned that among those killed in road accidents in Sylhet division in February, 11 were motorcycle drivers and riders, 6 were CNG drivers and riders, and 6 were pedestrians.
In addition, 4 people were killed in 6 accidents when cars overturned after losing control, 17 people were killed in 15 head-on collisions, 2 people were killed in 2 accidents when they hit electric poles and trees, and 12 drivers were killed during this time. In addition, the report mentioned that out of the 32 people who died in February, 23 were men, 6 were women, and 3 were children.
It is worth noting that in January, 36 people were killed and 68 were injured in 33 road accidents in Sylhet division.
