A three-hundred-year-old banyan tree stands in the Hooghlychhara tea garden of Sindurkhan Union No. 4, Srimangal Upazila, Moulvibazar district.
A very well-known tree in our country is the banyan tree. This tree is easily recognizable due to its size and shape.
Rural tradition There are various superstitions in the society regarding the banyan tree.
Some believe that the banyan tree has ghosts. The followers of traditional religion worship the banyan tree as a deity.
Karto. The story of marriage with a banyan tree was common in Hindu society. The banyan tree has survived for ages as the most ancient tree of rural Bengal.
Ficus benghalensis. A member of the Eurystigma subgenus of the fig family Its original habitat is Bengal.
As a witness to time, it has stood for three hundred years in the line of slum number 11 of Hooghlychhara Tea Garden, Sindurkhan Union No. 4, Srimangal Upazila, Moulvibazar.
It would be a mistake to think of the banyan tree as just an ordinary banyan tree. This is a unique memory of three hundred years.
The branches of the banyan tree are spread throughout the entire area. The roots of the tree have spread from one end of the line to the other. Even today, the banyan tree is green and fresh.
