At least 30 makeshift shops were evicted by the cops on Monday after the clash that took place between Jubo League and Chattra League earlier. In this connection, police conducted a three-hour drive at GEC intersection to Sanmar area and evicted 30 makeshift shops on the footpath. Tarek Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner of CMP said, “After the CMP decision, we conducted the drive and evicted 30 shops this morning.” Some vendors have set up the shops illegally and local leaders of Jubo league and Chattra League demanded tolls from them every day.
