Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning (September 26), raising this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 141.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 829 new patients were hospitalized with dengue during this period.
Among them, 194 were admitted to hospitals under the Dhaka North City Corporation, and 158 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Currently, 2,931 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Since January 1, 2024, a total of 25,701 dengue cases have been reported.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record.
