Two people were killed and seven others injured when a truck ploughed through a roadside shop at Shimultali in the district town yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Nur Hossain and Abul Hossain.
Fire service sources said the Rangamati-bound goods-laden truck crashed into the shop by the Chittagong-Rangamati road as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two people dead on the spot and seven others injured.
The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital.
BSS from Chittagong adds: A female garment worker was run over by a bus in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) area here this morning.
The victim identified as Nasima Begum, 32, wife of Jamal Uddin, hailed from Feni
district, was working at Regency Garments situated in CEPZ area in the city.
Locals said the victim received serious injury when a city-bound bus
crushed her under its wheels around 6:30am in Milermatha area under CEPZ thana when she was crossing the road.Locals brought the victim to Chittagong Medical College Hospital at an unconscious condition. But attending doctors declared her dead after admission.
