3 killed in road accident

Three people were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a truck-CNG and an auto-rickshaw in Chauddagram, Comilla. Five more were injured in the incident. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals in Chauddagram and Comilla.
The accident occurred on Monday evening near the U-turn of Felna Kazi Bari on the Chauddagram-Laksam regional road in the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chauddagram Police Station Mohammad Hilal Uddin Ahmed confirmed the information.
The deceased were identified as Momtaz Mia (35), son of Kala Mia of Natapara in Chauddagram Municipality, Abul Bashar (58) and his wife Morsheda Begum (52) of Moreshwar village in Nangalkot Upazila.
The injured are Abu Tayyab (26), son of Abul Bashar of Moreshwar village in Nangalkot upazila, Abdur Rahim (27), son of Jahangir Hossain of Bangadda in the same upazila,Ali Hossain’s son, auto driver Mahbubul Haque, and Abul Kalam’s wife Anwara Begum (42).
Police and local sources said that on Monday evening, Laksham From Chauddagram, a truck headed towards Chauddagram was involved in a U-turn on the Chauddagram – Laksam regional road in front of the Felna Kazi house.
A CNG truck heading to Nangalkot collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw.
The CNG truck went under the truck in a blaze of smoke. NewsLocals and fire service personnel reached the spot and started rescue operations. Two men and a woman died on the spot.
All the deceased were passengers of the CNG bus. Five others were injured in the incident. They were rescued and are being treated at various hospitals in the district, including the Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex.
